The lights of Altos de Chavón, festivities at the Marina, and New Year’s fireworks: what December brings to Casa de Campo and how to plan your days by golf cart.
December is the most festive month in Casa de Campo. Altos de Chavón lights up, the Marina fills with music, and the year ends with fireworks. Here’s what you can usually expect during those weeks and how to plan ahead so you can enjoy it all without rushing.
What last season was like
The resort publishes its holiday schedule every year. What took place in December 2025 gives you a good idea of what the season brings:
- The tree lighting. The festivities began on December 6 in Altos de Chavón with the lighting of the Christmas tree, fireworks, a live Nativity scene, and an orchestra concert.
- Santa’s Garden. From December 7 to 25, children brought their letters to Santa in Altos de Chavón.
- Christmas Eve. Christmas carols followed by merengue in Altos de Chavón.
- The night market. The Altos de Chavón market moved to the evening, with the Christmas lights on.
- Family activities. Night golf at Teeth of the Dog, an outdoor movie, and, at the Marina, a Grinch musical and a visit from Santa.
- New Year’s. A party at Minitas beach, celebrations at La Romana Country Club, a DJ at the Marina, and fireworks in Altos de Chavón.
- Nights in Altos de Chavón. A champagne evening at La Piazzetta, a Jazzy Night with artists painting live at Plaza Chavón on December 27 and, on December 29, DJ Black Coffee at the amphitheater.
- Time to unwind. A Casa Ēquilibra wellness studio in Altos de Chavón, with yoga, Pilates, and meditation every day.

Plan ahead
At Quiver, high season runs from December 1 to January 15. If you’re coming during those dates, it’s best to have everything ready before you arrive.
- Book your golf cart as soon as you know your dates. Demand is higher during those weeks.
- Think about your entire stay. The more days you rent it, the less you pay per day: the price drops starting on the third day. Daily prices for each golf cart are available on Pricing.
- Review the cancellation terms. Cancellation terms are different during high season. Read them in the cancellation policy before booking.
- Have it arrive with you. We deliver the golf cart to your villa between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM: request delivery for the day you arrive and start getting around right away.
How to get around when everything is busy
- Leave early for Altos de Chavón. It’s about 20 to 25 minutes by golf cart from the resort’s main area, and event nights are the busiest. If you prefer not to drive, the resort offers nighttime transportation from the lobby to the La Piazzetta parking lot.
- If the whole family is coming, the Bolt 4+2 carries up to 6 passengers. If your group is larger, a second golf cart helps you avoid taking turns and waiting.
- Take it easy at night. In December, the resort’s roads fill with cars, golf carts, and families with children.
- Keep valuables with you. Leave the golf cart in designated parking areas and don’t leave anything in plain sight.
Ideas for your festive days
- An afternoon in Altos de Chavón with the village lit up and dinner at La Piazzetta.
- A morning in Minitas, before lunch, to start the day by the sea.
- An evening at the Marina, walking by the water among the boats and lights.
- The last Saturday of the month, visit the Altos de Chavón market if the resort moves it to the evening again, as it did last year.
